WHY INCIPIO?

Incipio is a Latin word meaning “to begin”.
We (the founders) strongly believe in the power of beginning. Our logo is an abstraction of Chinese ideogram 原 (yuan) meaning origin, water spring, as we wanted to convey the idea of a water spring as the starting point of everything, the genesis that will contain the future development of our projects.
Incipio aims to preserve the intimate essence of Martial Arts as self-defense systems in their evolution and becoming, as a means to achieve the physical and mental balance of the person and as an introspective tool for psycho-physical and spiritual growth.
Inspired by Bruce Lee and his philosophy, in the desire to create a circle of Martial Artists outside the box, we aim to deliver excellence by sharing timeless values while respecting the legacy.
Our mission is to designate the "way" to achieve balance and embody those values that a modern warrior must demand of himself, pushing himself further with determination and commitment.
Incipio is courage, improvement and growth.

WHY FIT?

We believe that a fit body is much more than how good it looks.
A fit body is the means of expression of your discipline, strength and conditioning. It reflects constant hard work, dedication and mental toughness.
The body is the essential tool that will give you the opportunity to develop further your athleticism and your abilities as a Martial Artist.
We want people to be proud of their fit bodies, not hide them under tonnes of excuses.
Through specific training programs, Incipio supports the Martial Artist in acquiring both physical fitness and the necessary mental attitude, health and wellness.

JEET KUNE DO

Bruce Lee, Martial Artist, movie star and cultural icon, developed an expression of martial arts that was personal to him called Jeet Kune Do (translated from cantonese: Way of the Intercepting Fist). The idea of intercepting is key to JKD, whether it be the interception of your opponent’s technique or his intent. The basic guiding principles are: simplicity, directness and freedom (the form of no form).
The techniques and philosophies of JKD can be applied to real combat as well as challenging life situations. JKD consists of physical techniques and applied philosophies and requires the individual to train him or herself to their most cultivated state of being-ness so that when faced with a combat situation or a challenging personal situation, the tools needed are available in the moment and can be executed without thought.

Jeet Kune Do celebrates the cultivation and honest self expression of the individual over any organized style. Bruce Lee believed that liberating yourself from confining routines, while seeking to experience the world, was essential. Formalization and routine of classic martial arts have their places in training the body and instilling discipline, but Jeet kune Do is about transcending these things.
The symbol that represents Jeet Kune Do is a full yin yang symbol surrounded by arrows. The arrows represent the constant interplay of the complements of yin and yang.
Bruce Lee created this symbol as a representation of the culmination of his own self cultivation. This symbol is the final in a series of four that show this progression. The stages of cultivation are:
1, Partiality: The Running to Extremes
2. Fluidity: The Two Halves of One Whole
3. Emptiness: The Formless Form
4. Jeet Kune Do

TRAINING

Martial Arts require training and discipline: determination is key to adapt one's body and bring it to operate in a coordinated and effective way.
Incipio’s goal is to prepare you, through specific and exclusive training programs, to motivate and empower you to push harder and be the best version of yourself.
However, the search for physical form, perfection of punches, kicks, techniques, is not solely about the athletic performance. To Martial Artist, combat transcends physical fight: the intimate relationship with one's inner self, through the opponent, or thanks to the opponent. The latter can be a natural person, a material or immaterial entity, such as an obstacle on one's life path.
The Martial Artist aims to develop the readiness and adaptability to face adversity and the unknown, constantly working on his own person and self-knowledge.
